As a former martial artist, I find the military metaphors that Ashvaghosha uses truly inspiring. He describes the path to liberation as if it were a military campaign. There is nothing wishy-washy about his teaching at all. He urges us to bind on the armour of mindfulness and to show heroic endeavor in combatting foe-like faults. <BR/><BR/>This may sound like an advert, but I promise it is not -- the book has got nothing to do with me personally. <BR/><BR/>Just wanted to bring this book to the attention of you military-minded bloggers.
